For the person who needs no more objects, a year of experiences and belonging is a genuine gift rather than another thing to find space for. It is memorable precisely because it is not a thing.
How it works
You give it, they receive it in their own name.
Giving is simple. You choose the tier you would like to give — individual, family or patron — and buy it as a gift, telling us the recipient's name and how you would like them to receive it. We set the membership up in their name and send them a welcome and a card, digital immediately and printed by post if you would like the pleasure of something to hand over. Crucially, the gift year starts when they activate it, not when you buy it, so a membership bought weeks ahead of a birthday still gives them a full twelve months from the day they begin using it.
From there it is entirely theirs: their card, their access to the whole museum network, their priority on the events, their journal, their vote in the society. You have given them not a single outing but a year of cultural life, and the kind of present they will think of you for every time they use it. When their gift year ends, the choice to renew is theirs alone — we never quietly bill the giver again.
